After 1945 and until the mid-60s, the brands of the once strongest German corporate group AutoUnion are going through a difficult period of disintegration, change of owners and relocation from one city to another. In 1966, the Volkswagen corporate group becomes the owner of 100 percent of AutoUnion’s shares, and already under the wing of the corporate group, two years later, the latest development of the brand’s engineers – Audi 100 model. It allowed the corporate group to make a real breakthrough in the middle class car segment. Subsequent models Audi 50, Audi 80 and Audi 100 built on its success, which was a triumph with the debut of Audiquattro model in 1980.
Since 1982, when Audi cars entered the World Rally Championship, they have been unmatched in many other sports. The segment of the all-wheel drive Audiquattroc models of that time is constantly growing and expanding.
The brand is rapidly gaining a new premium segment, and in 1994, the first “aluminum” executive sedan Audi A8 entered the market. The same year, the Audi A6 business-class sedan and station wagon, which later became a bestseller, and the incredibly successful Audi A4, appeared in the model line.
In 1998, the AudiAG corporate group becomes the owner of the Lamborghini brand of Italian supercars. Thanks to the efforts of German partners, using the latest technical developments and financial capabilities of Audi, the affixed Italian brand gets a second wind. The same can be said for Ducati motorcycles. This Italian company was bought by Audi AG in 2012 and since then its lineup has been constantly expanding and updating.
In 2006, the corporate group releases its first full-size crossover AudiQ7 and becomes a direct competitor to BMWX5 and Mercedes-BenzML.
2016 is marked for the brand with the opening of the first production on the American continent. The newest plant in San Jose Chiaapa (Puebla State), Mexico, is designed to produce 150 thousand vehicles per year. The first model to hit the assembly line was the second-generation Audi Q5 crossover, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2016.
Currently, the corporate group employs over 85 thousand people. Cars and motorcycles are officially represented in more than 100 markets, and Audi’s 17 production sites are located in 13 countries around the world. The focus of the Audi corporate group is the development of new models and environmental future technologies. Power and quality – are the demands made by the founder of August Horch brand – are now reflected in every Audi car.
Practice shows that most Audi models fully develop oil on average every 8-12 thousand kilometers. Accordingly, when the car after the last maintenance has passed more than 10 thousand kilometers, it is desirable to contact us for oil and filter changes. Replacing filters is an integral part of “Audiin UAE” service, in a climate where sandstorms occur regularly and sand particles are constantly in the air.
It is recommended to check other parts of Audi car after every 20-30 thousand traveled kilometers. At the same time, special attention is paid to the braking system, chassis, transmission. However, if a breakdown occurs or suddenly some noise, hum, knocking, etc. began to arise while driving, you should contact the car service immediately.
Audi transmission
Gearbox is one of the most reliable components in Audi car. More reliable, perhaps, only the engine. But in order for the transmission of the car to function properly and require repairs not earlier than after 350 thousand kilometers, regular maintenance is necessary. If the gearbox (GB) is working properly, maintenance of the Audi transmission unit is reduced to changing the oil. It is recommended to change the oil every 60 thousand kilometers – in an automatic transmission, every 90 thousand kilometers – in a manual transmission.
Audi cooling system
The cooling system in dry, subtropical climates in Audi vehicles is always at full capacity and requires regular checks for leaks, the condition of antifreeze and the correct operation of the fans and thermostat. This cannot be done without special equipment and a stock of knowledge, therefore we always advise our customers as soon as a puddle appears under the car, or the car shows a low coolant level, or the temperature starts to rise, immediately find a safe parking place and call us. This 2-3 minute call can save the engine for you, and we will be happy to give you the necessary advice.
Audi air conditioning system
As in all German cars, the ventilation and air conditioning system of the Audi cabin usually works uninterruptedly for many years and pleases its owners with cool fresh air all year round, especially in the hottest summer, when the sun reaches +50 degrees Celsius. The only two conditions that we advise you to comply with are: refilling the frion once a year and regularly replacing the cabin filter, because the condition of the filter in the cabin directly speaks of the cleanliness of the air we breathe and affects our health.
It remains to add that Audi is a rather expensive car. And for its reliable serve for more than one year, you should not neglect regular maintenance.
